Naming Ceremony

Naming CeremoniesANaming Ceremony is an alternative to a baptism or christening as it is a non-religious ceremony which enables family and friends to celebrate the joy of welcoming a new life into the world.

The Naming Ceremony is a celebration by all of the people involved in your child’s life. It is an opportunity for you to state in front of your family and friends the unconditional love, care, support and encouragement that you will continue to provide.

Naming Ceremonies are performed for people of all age groups, from new-born babies to adolescence and beyond. Every ceremony is unique and offers flexibility to meet the individual needs of every families wishes. Because a Naming Ceremony is non-religious, it enables the child to choose their own beliefs in regards to religion, when they are mature enough to make this decision. The parent(s) are then allowing the child the freedom of choice to undertake their own beliefs later in life.

Location

Naming Ceremonies are normally performed at your own home or a local park. The parents may also appoint guardians/godparents at these ceremonies.

Types of Ceremonies

I have a variety of Naming Ceremonies for you to select from. A Naming Ceremony can also be incorporated into a Marriage Ceremony. Usually the Marriage Ceremony is completed first, followed by the Naming Ceremony.

Multicultural traditions, values and beliefs can also be incorporated into a Naming Ceremony.

Legal Requirements

I hold a current Positive Notice Blue Card issued by the Queensland Government which allows me to work with children. There are no legal requirements for a Naming Ceremony.

Certificates

The parent(s) are issued with a beautifully inscribed Naming Certificate at the conclusion of the ceremony. The appointed guardians/godparents are also issued with a certificate.

You may also purchase the "Welcome Baby"  "First Name Meaning" or "Amazing Astrology" printed on a wide selection of background papers. You can include birthday, star sign and a personal message.

I have over 180,000 names available and can also produce "Poems for Names" and various verses.

The "First Name Meanings" include laminating and postage to anywhere in Australia for just $15.00 Australian or it can be sent as a PDF file for just $5. Please email me for further information.
